Sylvastate's Investments
Sylvastate holds a concentrated portfolio of listed Australian industrial shares, with a significant emphasis given to stocks whose realistically achievable level of future earnings are considered to offer the potential for stronger rates of investment return relative to current prices. The portfolio contains around 30 holdings.

Investment Objective
The Sylvastate portfolio seeks to provide a rate of investment return which exceeds the All Industrials Accumulation Index.

Professional Management
Through their investment in Sylvastate shareholders obtain exposure to a professionally managed portfolio of listed Australian securities. Sylvastate's investment management personnel have a depth of experience. They adopt a structured and disciplined process of research, analysis and portfolio construction.

Diversification of Risk
Sylvastate's portfolio is spread across approximately 30 listed securities. The Investment Manager holds sufficient diversity of securities to ensure that Sylvastate's exposure to any one security or industry sector is not excessive in relation to Sylvastate's total portfolio.

Dividend Policy
Sylvastate's dividend policy is to pay dividends that are approximately similar to its net operating profit after tax but excluding realised capital gains. In this way shareholders are able to benefit from the receipt of a growing and secure stream of income through the fully franked dividends paid by the company. Dividends are currently paid each half year.

Cost-Efficient Management Expenses
Sylvastate's ongoing Management Expense Ratio (including all costs of operation) is approximately 0.35% per annum of the average value of gross assets.

Long Track Record
Sylvastate was founded in 1924 and has a long track record of investment performance. Details on investment outcomes are shown under the Performance section.

Regular Reporting
Sylvastate reports its net asset backing to the ASX monthly, and reports to Shareholders quarterly.

Sylvastate has a majority of independent directors on its Board, an important facet of corporate governance. Senior investment management personnel are also shareholders in the company, providing a strong alignment of interest between shareholders and key staff.
